Amphora

Amphora is a wine bottle inspired by the traditional oak barrels used to store, ferment, and age wine. Utilizing wood as opposed to glass gives wine deep flavor notes which, along with the elegant design of the bottle, creates an enhanced wine drinking experience. The bottle is carved from a single 102 mm x 102 mm x 356 mm block of wood using CNC machining. The piece is then cut in half to carve the interior and two small channels are routed all around. The bottle is completed by joining the two parts back together with two stainless steel fasteners as a reference to the steel rings traditionally used in oak barrels.
